27th April 2008

In the sudden snow shown below, one of our neighbour's ewes unexpectedly gave birth to triplets - unexpectedly in that it was not supposed to give birth to anything!

One of the lambs was cold so was taken indoors to warm it up. Its mother did not bond with it after that and will not feed it although she does let it snuggle up with her and its sisters.

Oh how sad - but read on ......
So is this a well-trained woolly dog walking through the Park? Not likely - it's a certain lamb - and its babysitter.

Meet Johnny the Lamb aged 18 days - and the tail is wagging so fast it's almost a blur!

That's one of Johnny's sisters having her supper - the other sister is black, just like him. I just love his mum's white socks!
Aagh! I walked down the small sheep paddock and suddenly there was a stampede behind me as mums and kids charged through the gate to follow me! Where's Johnny - chewing my wellies below the camera of course!
