Midland weekend

We travelled to Brownhills West Midlands to be confronted by this 30ft stainless steel miner. Built to commemorate the mining industry in this area.
This is me and my bruv outside his house. I think the camera caught him just before he made a rude gesture.
On Monday the 3 of us went to Lichfield. This is the cathedral which is in a very ornate Gothic style. Lichfield's claim to fame is that Dr Samual Johnson (lexicographer) was born here. His secretary Bosworth was a bit of a perv', he liked to rub "himself " against trees.
The weather was sunny and warm and we agreed that it was a very pleasant city.
We went to Ironbridge and walked across to the town. The river is the Severn , yes the same one that has the Bore only it doesn't reach this far. We also went to the Blists Hill Victorian town where you can convert new pence into old. You get 2/4 3/4d for £10. 2 pints of mild and a ginger beer cost 1/4 1/4 d.
